  14.    DESCRIPTION
  15.      EGSshow is a viewing program for GIF and JPEG files on the EGS window
  16.      system. This program is able to read the JPEG format as well as the GIF
  17.      formats GIF87a, GIF89a and all future GIF files compatible with both of
  18.      the above. The format of the file is detected automatically.
  19.  
  20.      The display window's open size is determined by the initial GIF or JPEG
  21.      file and the maximum possible size on the EGS default screen. The picture
  22.      itself is displayed in a scrolling gadget that lets you select the part
  23.      you want to see.

  25.      EGSShow needs a lot of memory for bigger pictures ( > 640 x 480) and EGS
  26.      version 6 or higher. Selecting a lower colour depth than 24 bit for the
  27.      EGS default screen will save you lots of memory.

  29.    SHELL OPTIONS

  32.           The GIF or JPEG file to read at startup. If no file is initially
  33.           specified, no picture is displayed first.

  35.    WORKBENCH
  36.      EGSShow can also be started from the workbench. To initially display a
  37.      file, first click on the picture icon and double-click the EGSShow icon
  38.      while simultaneously pressing the shift key.

  40.    MENUS
  41.      EGSShow has only one menu named "Project" which contains the following
  42.      items:

  44.      Open
  45.           Opens file requester to display another picture.
  46.  
  47.      Picture info
  48.           Displays info about the picture, ie. format, size and optional info.
  49.  
  50.      Keep size
  51.           Checkmarked item that determines if the display window is resized for
  52.           every newly loaded picture (default) or if its size is kept constant.

  54.      About
  55.           Displays copyright info.
  56.  
  57.      Quit
  58.           Quits the program.

  61.      This software uses JPEG code from The Independant JPEG Group Version 4 and
  62.      the GIF decoder written by Steven A. Bennett.
